Stacy is a native Texan.
She loves hiking, Texas barbeque, and playing volleyball. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from Southwestern Assembly of God University in 2013.
So how in the world did she end up serving the Lord in Russia?
During the summer of 2011, Stacy spent time in Kyrgyzstan with a Chi Alpha team from Sam Houston State University. It was during this summer that God started her on a course that landed her here in Russia.
Spending time with the Chi Alpha students sparked her curiosity about Chi Alpha. She wondered why these students were the way they were. After her trip ended, and she returned to the States, Stacy continued her friendships with several of the students she had met in Kyrgyzstan.
Their passion for life and walks with Jesus challenged her. For the first time in her life, her peers asked her hard questions and she knew she wanted to be a part of that community.
After attending TWMS2 in 2013, she learned that Colorado State University was partnering with local workers in Krasnodar to implement Chi Alpha in Russia. The Lord had already placed a desire to serve in Russia on Stacy’s heart. Prayerfully, she decided that the internship at CSU was a perfect integration point for the two passions God had given her: Chi Alpha and Russia.
In February 2017, Stacy arrived in St. Petersburg, Russia, where she is currently living and serving with a team to implement evangelism and discipleship among university aged students. She leads a small group, meets one-on-one with students and works with potential leaders as they are learning to, themselves, become disciple makers.
Right now, Stacy is planning to remain in Russia until 2019. She’s praying for direction about what to do after that.
Will you pray for Stacy, that God will give her wisdom and a clear path forward?
And if, like Stacy, you are beginning to feel led to come serve in Eurasia, you can check out all the opportunities to do just that right here.
We are so glad that you’re a part of this community. We couldn’t do this without you.
