Deliverance for Russia

This story comes from one of our teams in Russia. If you would like to receive real-time information of needs and answers to prayer from one of our teams on the field, with many more details than we are able to share here publicly on our blog, we invite you to looking into starting a Pray Band.

This month we hosted a team of university students for a short term trip. During their time here, we identified and studied the necessity for all believers to participate in the Great Commission, prayed for the unreached, and shared the Good News with those who have yet to hear.

It has been beautiful to witness the students’ deep rooted love for the unreached. While they have been with us, we have seen them grow in boldness and confidence when sharing the hope of Jesus in our community. Some of them are actively considering coming back to serve long-term, praise God!

At one of our group prayer meetings, a teammate of ours led us in prayer specifically for the Chechen and Ingush people. We prayed that the Lord would help us in sharing the truth of Jesus to these Muslim communities as well as reveal to us individuals who may be receptive to the Gospel message.

That same day, one of the students and I met a women from Chechnya named Ksenia in the local food court who allowed us to share with her about our faith. She is a devout Muslim, yet was still willing to listen to us tell her how much Jesus loves her. We were then able to show her a video explaining the Good News in her native language. Toward the end of our conversation, we asked if we could pray over her.

She then expressed that she does not have any children and asked us to pray for her to have a baby. In the Chechen culture, a women’s personal worth is directly connected to her ability to bear children. We prayed in Jesus’ name for Ksenia to see that God wants a relationship with her, for Jesus to heal her heart, to give her a baby if that is His will for her life, and for Ksenia to trust in God no matter the outcome.

As we partner with Ksenia in prayer for her to deliver a child, we are simultaneously praying that she will recognize the true deliverance that God desires for her.
