How God Supplies Needs When You’re Coming to Eurasia

One of the monthly features on the Eurasia Community Blog is about our Financial Partnership Development program, led by Jenn Fortner. In FPD, our associates receive small group training and coaching as they invite individuals and churches to partner with them financially in the work God has called to in Eurasia.

Dana has wanted to work with one of our Live Dead teams for a long time.

When she was a teenager, she got a hold of one of our prayer journals, and her heart was moved as she read about the work our teams are doing among unreached people groups. She knew God was asking her to be a part of that work.

So after she graduated from college, Dana wasn’t surprised when God began stirring her heart to come to India as a Live Dead associate. But despite knowing she was called by God to this work, raising funds to get to India was a challenge for which she didn’t feel equipped.

A little over a month ago, Dana had just gotten back from a trip to Latin America, and was a little nervous to begin her fundraising process. She didn’t really feel like she knew what she was doing, but she trusted the Lord, so she prayed, “Lord, if this is what you want me to do, you’re going to have to supply my budget.”

A few days later she was invited to a surprise party where she met a gentleman who was a friend of her grandparents. As she talked with him about her post-college plans, he became interested in the work she was doing in India, and asked for a prayer card and said he would give towards helping her get there.

Dana was encouraged by this encounter, but since she didn’t really know the gentleman, she had no way to follow up. She hoped he would remember her, and maybe give a small amount.

But a few days later, he emailed her with encouragement to persevere in the fundraising process and a gift of $1000!

That was exactly the boost she needed to really get going in the fundraising process, and since then, she’s had several more generous gifts to help her get to India.

That one encounter bolstered Dana’s faith to trust in God’s provision, and that’s one of the reasons we share these stories every month—to help us all remember God’s faithfulness and trust in Him to provide for whatever comes next.

If you, like Dana, are facing new territory, please know and believe that God goes ahead of you and will be faithful to see you through whatever work He’s called you to.

And if you have a moment today, would you please pray for our workers who are raising funds to come to Eurasia? Iterating can be a tedious and frustrating process at times, and our workers need us praying against discouragement on their behalf.

Thanks for praying, and for being a part of this community. We are so glad that you’re a part of what we’re doing to reach the lost in Eurasia. We couldn’t do this without you.
