Earlier this month, at General Council, many of you were able to get your hands on a copy of our brand new prayer book, Prayers: A Journey Through Eurasia. But we know that not all of you were able to make it to General Council this year, so for those of you who haven’t seen it, below is one of the prayers for the lost that appears in the book. As you begin your week, would you be praying with us for those who still need the hope of Jesus in Eurasia?
Loving Father,
Thank you for your heart for each of us. We are able to come into your presence today, not because of our own merit, not because of anything we have done, but because of what Jesus has done for us. We only “have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,” (Hebrew 10:18) and because of your great love for us, that you would send Him to die in our place.
Your love for us is unfathomable, God. You have redeemed us, and adopted us as sons and daughters, and called us you own. But we recognize that there are many others in the world whom you love just as you love us, but who have not yet accepted the love and forgiveness you offer us so freely.
So we pray for the lost in Eurasia, God. We pray for those who have never heard of Jesus, that you would raise up missionaries to take the gospel of them. We pray for those whose eyes have been blinded by the god of this age, so that they “so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:4). We pray that you would draw them to repentance by your Holy Spirit, and that countless multitudes in Eurasia would come to the saving knowledge of Jesus.
We join in with the “rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents” (Luke 15:7), because we are believing that even now, you are opening doors for great revival across Eurasia. Your kingdom come, and your will be done, Lord, in Eurasia and throughout the earth, to the glory of your great name.
Amen
Thanks for praying with us, and thanks, as always for being a part of this community!
